The Death Certificate allows the government to preserve the death in a state. This certificate is given by the state officials after the death of the individual. Any death must be registered within 21 days, as per the Birth and Death Registry Act, 1969, and the death certificate will be given to the closest relative of the deceased person.

Fee Structure To Register For Death Certificate Tamil Nadu

To receive a death certificate, which is stated below, the applicant must pay the appropriate fee.

  • For any copy, the claimant will bill Rs.25/-.
  • 25/- a copy is charged for searching death records.
  • If death is registered after 1 month, then Rs.25/- per copy will be charged, and if death is registered after 1 year, for each copy, the claimant must pay Rs.50/-.
  • Fee stamping needs to be added to the submission form and Rs.2/- will be charged.
